Bill: Extradition Policies
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Libertarian Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4300
Description[?]:
When a person commits a crime in a foreign land, then the person must pay for that crime. Regradless of their nationality, we must only protect out citizens and if a country requests the extradition of a foreign criminal we must negotiate it. Each country has the right to legislate and to include whatever disciplinary measures they require to ensure national safety and we do not have to power to tamper with such laws. |

Message | Our obligation is to protect our own citizens. Whatever other countries decide to do with their citizens and criminals is none of our business. We must only look after the accomplishment of our justice system and if there's a criminal on the run that happens to be in Likatonia it is our duty to the international community to deliver it to justic. No matter what the consequence might be. Tia Clair Chair of the Democratic Party Justice Commitee with endorsement from Jacqueline Rosenfeld House Party Leader |

Message | I will just refer to the current Likatonian Extradition Law, which establishes the strict requirements for extradition, the bearing of all costs by the claiming nation, and the rights that the convicts and the Republic retain. http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=520927 Just one more point: if we don't extradite criminals, Likatonians will most likely not be extradited when they supposedly commit crimes in a foreign country, nor foreigns will be brought to us when they commit crimes here and run away. This means impunity for the latter, and cruel and inhumane treatment for the former, our fellow citizens. These are the consequences of the proposed bill. Thalissa Wiggins SLP House Speaker |
