| This bill hereby empowers the Minister of Justice to head a committee of Senators to inquire into the recent conspiracy to assassinate President Melsbach via lynch mob. This committee will be made up of one representative from each party, with the Minister of Justice being the representative from his/her party. Party Leaders and Deputy Leaders (or their equivalents), as well as the President and Prime Minister, are disqualified from participation or involvement in the committee, justified due to a wish to mitigate conflict of interest. This committee shall inquire into the events surrounding the conspiracy to assassinate Henrik Melsbach, and hearings shall be public and open to the press. This committee shall specifically be empowered with the right of subpoena, of both physical evidence and testimony, per the request of any member of the committee. A subpoena may be vetoed by the Minister of Justice if it has no connection to the subject of this inquiry. This committee may be dissolved per the wishes of the Minister of Justice. This bill shall pass by a simple majority vote. |
