Description[?]:

Parteimitglied Heinrich Scholz,
Honourable Party members, members of the Reichstag, we are at present in a dire situation. The forces of international imperialism are united in defiance of our government's justified actions in Osterland and against our single party political system. We must resiliently stand, to fight the foe, to win at all costs. We cannot be beaten, for our sacred right, our right to self determination as a nation is at stake. Hence, in order to achieve economic self sufficiency and to prepare our nation for the ensuing conflict we must be prepared to make sacrifices in order to maintain our strength. We should expect heavy sanctions, destruction of infrastructure, capital flight and industrial sabotage on a scale never before seen in this nation. Hence we propose the implementation of a war economy, a Kreigswirtschaft, which will provide us the economic stability and dependency that our military and our people require to make it through this dark time.

Article 1; all vital aspects of industry must be placed directly under state government control. Food must be maintained, water must be pumped, services must be carried out even in the heaviest of fighting and under the largest amount of pressure. We cannot let the profitability of a business prevent it's ability to aid the fatherland in our struggle. The market would bring unnecessary anarchy to this and hence vital industry must be removed from the market.
Article 2; areas of vital land and resources necessary for the war effort must be placed into state government hands. This is necessary due to the prior reasons mentioned in Article 1 above.
Article 3; all remaining privately owned industry must be supervised by the government to maintain standards and to ensure that the industry is being carried out in the interests of the nation and people. We cannot allow expensive machinery which could be used to fuel the Hulstrian war machine to sit idly by when so much is at stake.

These are the Articles which the Radicals propose. We hope that with debate between all factions of the Party we may reach a conclusion which will take these issues into account. Thank you.

MessageMembers of the Reichstag,

The situation as outlined by Herr Scholz is indeed true. We cannot deny that sanctions are hitting our economy and that I have been forced to increase rationing amongst Class C citizens to combat potential food shortages. However, if we are as one and follow the Party ethos of unity, we will succeed.

Therefore I welcome plans to put the nation above all and implement a war economy environment. However, it is my clear intention that once we have emerged victorious from the current situation we will look to restore the more balanced economy that has helped us thrive in the past.

MessageHonourable Reichskanzler Nimitz;

We welcome your positive view of our proposed bill, and we assure the Reichstag that these measures are only a temporary neccessity, to be used sparingly. The people affected shall receive complete recompensation via the usual channels involved in Eminent Domain cases and after the war the economy shall be returned to prior conditions at the behest of the Party majority.
We will henceforth put the bill to a vote. Thank you.

Parteimitglied Heinrich Scholz

    Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
