Bill: Minimum Wage and Minimum Income Act, August 4301

Details

Submitted by[?]: Partia e Reformës (PR/KM/RP)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 4302

Description[?]:

This Act of the Convocation shall see the amendment of the so-called minimum wage. The wage is meant to be a starting wage in an attempt to push the individual into earning meaningful salaries through gaining work experience. This wage, for example, is perfect for students as a little money-maker through university. We need to be making it easier for companies to make money, especially smaller businesses, and not having to pay a so-called living-wage shall help boost the economy - which in turn will allow companies to pay more to their employees.

However, we understand that some people find themselves out of work. That is why we are guaranteeing them, regardless of the time it takes, a minimum income on which one worker can adequately subsist until they have found employment.

MessageMr Speaker,

What does voting NO say about the Opposition’s attitude toward the poor? It says that they will not support an indefinite lifeline for those out of work, and want to condemn people to poverty. This is not a party you want leading you.
