Message | Aidano Cesaro, Whip of C.C.: "There is a rich tradition within the AI/PNP/PNI tent to support the free markets - unhindered by competition from subsidized state agents. What has happened, I know not. But Mr. Votta's scheme is essentially a step towards greater state control in the marketplace. And worse than just that, it foretells the advent of great state control over information. Informing our citizens, says Mr. Votta. More like propagandizing them. We mustn't allow a short-term crisis to deprive Istalians of their freedoms and what is important to them. If we succumb to this proposal, I fear for the future of Istalia: only the C.C. stands in the path of future nationalizations, greater deficits, and other catastrophic ideas. That is why we will firmly and unanimously oppose this bill!" |

Message | Stefano Romulani, Vice-Leader of LP: "Mr Speaker, have you reed the Hon. Cesaro talking about "greater deficits" and "catastrophic ideas"? Collegues, I wonder to you: was it not the last Government led by the Capitalist Confederation which after decades generated almost 1 billion of deficit with its unreasonable, reckless and only populist cuts to the tax? It was not the last administration led by CC which slashed the national budget to the bone? It is quite hypocrit by their part talking about "catastrophic ideas" and "deficit" after their "great" job when at the power! We consider simply null and void the statements made by Hon. Cesaro and we invite all the parties to recognize this ridicolous attempt to deny the past errors, if not horrors!" |

Message | Demetrio Votta, Minister of Interior, Hon. Cesaro, usually we would agree with you. Yet, in our current situation the ability to inform the citizens about where they may find emergency aid, closest hospitals, news on possibilities for treatment and health instructions is vital, especially as the government can run it 24/7. This has nothing to do with markets or ideology or the AI. This has everything to do with pragmatism and ensure that there is some kind of governing body in control of the situation. |
