Message | Members of the Reichstag: We Believe that maintaining a military which is under the control of the civilian government is important to prevent risk to the government and to directly tie the military to the government and nation. Hence we believe that the government should appoint people loyal to the government rather than loyal to the military. This act increases the risk of a coup or similar catastrophe occurring in the future. Hence the Radikale Fraktion cannot support this bill. Parteimitglied Heinrich Sholz |

Message | Party Member Sholz! I can vouch 100 per cent for General von Thaller. He is one of my closest allies and a co-founder of the Party. His loyalty to me and our country is in no doubt... Still, I concede the general point that we must safeguard against a future coup. So I plan to take further steps to eradicate potentially hostile elements within the ranks of our armed forces. Whilst our system only allows Class A citizens to hold senior positions we could do more. Therefore, I will soon look at strengthening the laws to prevent homosexuals from joining the army. As stated previously, these people are more susceptible to the communist malady and should not be given martial training, so they can not turn against our country if 'infected'. Message | Honorable Reichskanzler Nimitz, I apologise if my comments brought into question the loyalty of General von Thaller to the party and current government of Hulstria. His loyalty as all here agree is beyond question and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the service he has and continues to provide to our great nation. However, laws are meant to be binding for longer than the term of office of a single General, and the Radikale Fraktion believes in thinking ahead. Unless you can always guarrantee the loyalty of the military towards the government regardless of actions the government takes, we can sadly still not support this bill. Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
