Bill: Republican revolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kjerne

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4312

Description[?]:

There is no point I address the Huspresident, since this chamber is no longer a seat for the expression of the will of the people

I'll turn directly to the dictator of Kazulmark, Herr Highsun. Hail Highsun! Thank you. Thank you, Herr Highsun for moving so slow, slowly enough for not yet having eliminated the last vestige of opposition. Thank you for letting me speak here, though my words will just echo hollow within these walls while you can afford to sit there and smile.

We once had a Liberale parti in this country, it was only two-three years ago, they called for republic. What happened? Soon there was no more Liberale Parti. We didn't yet see a pattern.

Hanne Solbakken, where are you? Yes, you have no seat, but I know you lurk somewhere in here. Explain to Kazulia what happened to your party! Explain it at least to your own members of the workers congress. How could you and your cabinet fail so miserably, leaving the total power over Kazulia over to Herr Highsun, and his royal charade? Are we now seeing why you defended the monarchy three years ago? What we see now - was it your plan?

And Herr Ovesen. Where is he? Where is the entire Höyre? There are reasons to believe in the rumours about him having left the country. Did you reward him well, Herr Highsun. We saw him failing the declared program of Höyre time and again, seemingly pretty happy even to share cabinet with NAF a few months, until Höyre even dissolves and Ovesen leaves the country, removing the last cover and vail of the charade, for to let Herr Highsun command the scene in his proper splendor.

Oh well, I leave out the Queen and her party. They are sitting here today, feeling snug. But what's the point of talking with puppets? The Fascists are keeping the Queen and Herr Magnus as their last anacronistic veil, their claim to respectability and popular affection. They hand Herr Magnus and his Queen superficial honorary titles and ceremonious honors, but the right to dub new nobles lies with Herr Highsun. This is not democracy, it is not a venerable historical aristocracy either. It is handing the right to Herr Highsun to handpick his own new elite of fascists.

I call the people of Kazulia. Overthrow the monarchy! And call for new elections! The old parties have failed. Time to reclaim the democracy on the streets.

[OOC I don't know how to propose Republic, like the Liberale parti did. (It would anyway be futile at this moment)]

Message(OOC: Nice! Really liked this post, love the flavour throughout)

Herr Huspresident,

While the Royal Party does obviously see the danger Kazulia is currently in, we believe the problem is not with the Queen, or with the constitutional monarchy at all. Despite our possibly totalist sounding name, the Royal Party is a firm believer of a constitutional monarchy, which has benefits we have briefly touched on before. The rise of Herr Highsun is a peculiar matter indeed, as neither Highsun's people nor mine were ever supposed to have this much authority over Kazulia, at least according to our people's will as of 4302. The Royal Party believes that we must wait for the next elections, whether early or not, to once again see the will of our people, and who they vote for. Once elections come, and they will come, justice will return. Honor is a core principle of the Royal Party, and there is no honor in taking massive action with authority not specifically bestowed upon you. This one of our main problems with Herr Highsun at this moment, if the people want his fascist regime then let the people vote him in! The citizens of Kazulia are our children, and we must respect them and honor them accordingly. Overthrowing the monarchy, I assure you, will not help us achieve a more honorable and democratic government, but just abolish the currently neutral seat, opening up yet another office for Highsun's people to take. I hope you can understand, at least for now, that the monarchy only help Kazulia and could stand as our last line of defense against Highsun's people in government.

MessageStatsminister Magnus and anyone deigning to hear of what goes on in this building,

this is all well said, and we have good reason to appreciate and trust your words when the royalist party uses the influence it still does have to stop the NAF from consolidating this dictatorship. And this you are about to do, flunking the NAF State Solidity Bill!
If you follow this through and continue in this manner, I am sure the rift between the crown and the people of Kazulia, who is not fascist, can heal.

Let me declare: I do not blame the Royalist Party for this dictatorship! I blame the NA for their ambiguous treacherous behaviour, not the common members of this big party, but their leadership. What is going on there in the backdrops?
And Höyre, the traitors of their professed liberal cause, complete in their scandalous demise.

MessageOOC: As the owner of the former Liberale Parti, well done!
In truth, I ended the Liberale Parti because I wanted to start over but this is a great role play.

MessageMy grandmother used to say "For every pain there's a gain".
We are four parties here suffering. At least we are learning a virtue - patience.
I am certain there is an end of the tunnel, and we will one day reach daylight.
Until then we are seeing parties come and go, passing by, zero seats. Only those who have a true foundation, a popular anchoring, will remain standing on that day when the electorate shall demand to have its voice heard and weighed.
Diktator Highsun obviously realizes he would not get a majority vote if elections were held next year as has been promised. Of course he is again trying to change the constitution to prolong his void mandate. He is still dependent on Herr Kasper Magnus for this.
If the Kongelige parti persists in denying Highsun his dream of his version of an "eternal kingdom", "autarchic Kazulia", my movement owes the Queen and the royal party an apology.

MessageStortinget,

Such were the sentiments eight years ago, during the Highsun dictatorship. How long ago it seems!
As far as I can tell, from the perspective of Kjerne membership, the revolutionary extra-parliamentary republican sentiments have died down.

Let me take the opportunity to salute the new King, and bring our extremely sincere condolences, from the whole Kjerne parliamentary group, for the departure of his mother Queen Annette who was so beloved, and mourned of all Kazulia.
