MessageMr Speaker,

How can the Chancellor justify pulling out of the TFTA? It allows Hutorian companies to export their goods with little to no tariffs, and allows Hutorians to import goods with little to no tariffs. This strengthens not only our economy but our relationships with countries around the world. Can the Chancellor explain why he wants to pull out of TFTA?

To the Member Opposite, Hutori holds dozens of unilateral free trade agreements with numerous nations. The TFTA is actually covered for free trade by a dozen other agreements reached privately with other nations. We applaud the enthusasim to which the Centrist Party defends the concepts of Free Trade but in this case we must agree with the Chancellors decision to withdraw from these two redundant treaties.

We should further note that two of the signatories; Beitenyu and Davostan are both apart of the Federal Blacklist for their legalization of slavery and so we currently have no diplomatic relations or trade with these nations. We could pursue a free trade agreement directly with Trigunia and accomplish the same thing.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
