MessageHerr Huspresident,

I propose a new tax bill - 8000 KKR free of tax, and the rest of the income taxed at 50 %.

I do this with a hope that we can accomodate the Arbejderkongress, with the estimated revenue being higher that the one of our last proposal that was rejected by NA and NDP.

If the Arbejderkongress cannot agree to a solution to our extreme taxation situation, we, in Kjerne, are unanimous that we cannot continue to be held responsible for being a part of this government.

I have looked around in the world, I think I studied about 24 nations, and I could establish that Kazulia has the highest taxes of them all. By far! And Kazulia was the only country to have no basic deduction at all, except for one country that has a flat tax at maybe 10 %. But we start off at BANG, 50%!
And! Kazulia is the only country to have a decidedly regressive tax system.
Interestingly the countries that resembles us most are our two neighbours Drania and Hulstria. Drania has a bit of a regressive bump in their tax scale, and Hulstria begins taxing almost from zero at a whopping 26 %. That is till a far cry from our terror against our own people.
I would like to see our minister of Internal Affairs, Karsten Ersland (NDP), be given the commission to chart the amount of refugees who have fled our country due to the taxes.

What I proposed last was indeed a drastic tax cut, but still an internationally very high income tax, and when adding the other taxes, probably still the highest taxes in Terra. So what I put before you this time, being more tax than the last time, should still satisfy the majority in this chamber who want Kazulia to be the most economically controlled country in the world.

If this gets passed, I will at least be able to sleep at night, being minister of finance of this country.
But, and now I speak for all of us in Kjerne... Aye... Look at them... We are ready to walk out... We shall not rule with a party that purports to represent the interests of workers and the lower classes, while taxing them more than their bosses. This apart from ruining our general economy by making it impossible to run a business.

-Arvid Horn, Minister of Finance

I tear my hair!

What now puzzles me is that we did have the Allians and the Royalists aboard for our previous, and preferred, income tax plan.
We needed the NA on board, so we presented this new plan - our attempt at accomodating them.

No, only now the Allians and the Kongelige also fail us. Well, yes, you might prefer our first plan, but surely, if you liked that plan, surely you must prefer this one too better than the status quo.

What do you want? If no other party comes up with a tax plan, and one that we can accept, I will resign.

Well, let me show you what the three tax plans mean on these income levels. 5k, 10k, 20k, 30k, 50k, 100k
And then I want someone of you come up with a better plan.

Currrent tax payed %: 50--50--50--44--43--47
Kjerne first proposal %: 0--12--26--34--40--45
Kjerne sec.proposal %: 0--10--30--37--42--46

MessageHerr Huspresident,

Let me add a bit of research I have done:
I have looked at 24 countries beside our own, and I find that the countries with the highest income taxes apart from Kazulia, are:

Sekowo: 0--13--24--30--41--51
Trigunia: 15--15--15--15--15--15

See what we get if we do a similar test of the result at five income levels.
These countries have a government relative spending quite outstanding in comparison with the other 21 I looked at. And see how our income tax is still outstanding from these.
Our proposals resemble the Sekowo system.

-A. Horn

[OOC: It is harder to make RL comparisons, but rest assured Kazulia would be just as unique there]

MessageHerr Huspresident,

Good. The Workers Congress seems to agree with us to slash income taxes for low income earners down to bearable levels. If they are resolved, we now need only the Allians or the Kongelige back aboard again.

Either this must happen or the Allians must present an acceptable plan of their own before the end of this year, or we have a government crisis. Kjerne will leave this government, and a government including the NAF will have to be formed.
The taxation and the budget is the framework of government. If there is a majority here for NAFs financial policies, it is they who must rule

-Atlas Skuldristen, Group Leader Kjerne

Hey... hey... by the way... I noticed how Trigunia could have such high governmental spending is because they run a steep budget deficit, not because of high taxes - so strike Trigunia out of my example. The country with the by far highest taxes apart from us, is probably Sekowo.
