With this measure, the women will can access to legal abortion within the first trimester. Me and my part have to thanks President Votta for this demonstration of understanding, pragmatism and sensibility. President Votta recently well explained what pushed the decision of the Nationalist, President Votta well explained the fact that there are situation, outside the medical emergency, which, we think, the abortion is the best solution for the mother. He explained in one recent interview one of the several cases that can push a woman to take such a decision. This is a measure of civilty and compassion and humanity too. Thank you" |

| Message | Demetrio Votta, President della Repubblica, I know I should not be meddling with the parliamentary affairs too much, but I was mentioned and I wish to express my motivations. In the debate over abortion prohibition, the LP brought up crucial points such as wether the fetus feels pain. As it does not really, and cannot even live without the mother, it makes no sense to prohibit abortion in the first trisemester. The child is clearly unwanted and women might be carrying the children of their rapist! Additionally, it prevents the spread of illegal abortions and it would be hypocritical of us to not care about health in this sphere, but care when drugs are concerned for example. In my opinion, deciding to abort later is simply unfair towards the child and even doctors as the procedure is more complicated and you essentially kill a life following a spontaneous unreasonable decision. Thank you |
