Message | Mr. Speaker, I find it confusing that so-called libertarian socialists would vote against extending child benefit, educating our children, opening up higher education once more after years of both public and private tertiary education being illegal, protecting our workers from multinational corporations, assisting the homeless, funding public libraries, putting religious schools under government oversight, and partially renationalising our railways. John Miller Leader of the National Democratic Party |
Date | 21:03:55, November 29, 2017 CET | From | Félagsleg Demókrati Partí | To | Debating the National Democratic Manifesto |
Message | The reason why the Libertarian Socialist Party votes against this bill, it's because I disagree in most of the proposals. For example, making school compulsory when making it completely voluntary helps the children to learn what they want and the way they want. |
Date | 00:02:21, November 30, 2017 CET | From | National Democratic Party | To | Debating the National Democratic Manifesto |
Message | Mr. Speaker, Education is a basic right for all children. The argument that schooling being voluntary lets children learn what they want the way they want is nonsense; just the same could be said about the ban on private schools. Under the current laws, the government does not fund higher education, yet simultaneously bans private higher education. It would seem to this party that the current education policy has been developed through years of incompetence, rather than any real concern for the generation that is the future of this country. John Miller Leader of the National Democratic Party |
Date | 15:38:43, November 30, 2017 CET | From | Green Party | To | Debating the National Democratic Manifesto |
Message | We oppose article 6; We want to help any country in need and we oppose article 9; we do not prefer any regulations concerning religion. They should be free so no extremism appears among religious people. Green party cannot decide either to vote yes or no So we will abstain from voting |
Date | 19:48:58, November 30, 2017 CET | From | The Conservative Party | To | Debating the National Democratic Manifesto |
Message | The Conservatives do agree with some proposals of This Bill Mr Speaker, but for God sake, most of these articles will deter our economy sending us back to the old days of the 20th century where communism was a thing. Telamonians don't want to return to those times! |
Date | 20:51:15, November 30, 2017 CET | From | Workers' Party | To | Debating the National Democratic Manifesto |
Message | We will abstain. |
