Message | Mr. Speaker, This is because the Head of Government is also the Head of State in our current system. It is just situated in such a way that our President is elected by the Presidium rather than the people. The New Green Party of Lodamun would support legislation that would allow the people to choose the Head of State in elections. However, we will not support this specific proposal. How things currently are, adding a title to the Head of State would create redundancy and even more confusion(OOC: It would appear as "Head of State: The President The President" on the nation page since the HoS is set to where "The President" is a hereditary HoS, currently without a formal title). We would advise that if such a change were to occur, we would call for a proposal within that would change the way the Head of State is elected. If such a bill would pass, we would suggest an early election to be called for afterward so the people can choose their leader straight away. Samuel Larsa, NGPoL MP |
