Bill: Software Deregulation Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4314
Description[?]:
The future of the world is in software, and Malivia holds great promise as a software development powerhouse However this is presently held back by onerous regulations on the development of closed source software This makes it impractical for Malivian developers to sell the software they have spent hours crafting, or for overseas companies to hire Mailivian developers for private projects. The Liberal Party values open source software, but believes the choice of license and business model should reside with the developers and that there is little benefit to regulating closed source software We urge our parties to relax this law to prevent Malivia from falling behind our international competitors Julia Montero Liberal Party Spokesperson for Science and Technology |
