Bill: Youth Civil Encouragement Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamon Social Democrats

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4315

Description[?]:

An Act to adjust the national curriculum to allow voluntary courses teaching basic Telamonian government functions and the essentials of Telamonian politics. This Act will also create incentives to encourage students to enroll in these classes at their school, though the class will be voluntary, and not mandated. The curriculum will be mandated by law to remain as nonpartisan as reasonably possible, so as to eliminate any political bias that might arise from such education

Seeing how Telamonia doesn't provide any classes in the national curriculum that cover the basic essentials of the Telamon government, this act will be a great first step in cultivating and fostering an informed, educated voter population.

The encouragement of voter participation in the political process is fundamental to any democratic society.
