MessageMr Speaker

We in the Liberal party are struggling to understand the logic behind these proposals. It appears that all kinds of union may be formed, except they all must be run by the government, that membership in them is voluntary except that some of them are closed shops which by definition are not voluntary, that control of business is to be forcibly handed over to workers councils and yet government-run trade union leadership may demand their members strike irrespective of the fact the workers' views are better represented by the workers councils running the country.

We cannot see any result other than mass disruption.
