Bill: Land Mine Restrictions Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dremidydd Social Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4317

Description[?]:

Antipersonnel landmines are an indiscriminate weapon that do not target those they are meant to stop. The vast majority of victims of landmines are citizens, and landmines continue to maim and kill citizens well after wars have ceased. They violate the basic humanitarian tenets that say that weaponry should distinguish between civilian and military targets, and their use and construction by Aloria, in both governmental and private industry, should be banned.

MessageSince we are not a military dictatorship, it's probably best to let the Senedd decide on this and the executive branch enforce the law.

MessageWe are sad to see the larger parties showing no compassion for citizens of Aloria who will be maimed and killed indiscriminately by these weapons. Leaving it up to the Armed Forces is an abdication of responsibility.
