Description[?]:

King Markus appears from the balcony of the Royal Palace in Skalm, Dreton. Hundreds of thousands have gathered today, July 12th 4316, to hear what the monarch has to say about the recent events. Many important individuals have shown up, including significant representatives from all recognized political parties in Kazulia.

"Hello everyone! Thank you all for coming to Skalm today, I know many of you are from all around Kazulmark. Today I am here to speak on the pressing issues that have shown themselves recently, namely the 'coup' inside the Nasjonalt Hedensk Raad, sorry, the Hedensk Allianse as they are now known. Great divides are growing in Kazulmark, and I promise all of you here today and every other man, woman, and child of Kazulmark that I will fight to keep our nation together. It seems now, more than ever, that our ideologies threaten to rip us from our brothers and sisters; whether it be the economic differences between the regulators and the capitalists, the religious differences between the spiritual and the secular, or the governmental differences between the authoritarians and the libertarians. We must not let these divides turn us on each other like animals. The Hedensk Allianse has proved that politicians with malicious intent are not vacant from Kazulia. Let me be the first to denounce Magnar Stein for his barbaric tactics and ruthless policies. We, as a nation, cannot let any one party or ideology gain too much control over our lives. The goal is to achieve a compromise between the ideologies, let all of Kazulmark be heard. This, of course, will make many unhappy, as it means that no one party will reach 100% of their goals. This means the Nasjonalt-Autokratiske Fascistparti should not be able to establish a fascist paramilitary and use the military to rule Kazulia. However, this also means that Kjerne should not be able to keep the government from helping our citizens in the name of more freedom. I believe that there is a compromise to solve every issue, even issues as significant as the ruling policies of our nation. If we want to overcome these new, growing divides, we must first and foremost protect the rights of our citizens. In the words of Kasper Magnus, "what are our children but slaves if they have no voice?" The freedom of individual choice is paramount, of course with this comes the need to protect our citizens, both through a strong defensive military and also through minor economic regulations or governmental agencies to ensure that our citizens can enjoy a safe life without fear of invasion or complete financial failure. I, for one, am for Kjerne's policy of a universal basic income, which would, in turn, allow more parts of the market to become less regulated as our citizens would always have a stable floor to land on lest they fail in the competitive markets of our nation. However, as many know, I am a religious man but also support secular ideals. This is what scares me the most about the new leadership of the Hedensk Allianse if they are willing to enforce their religious beliefs upon the people of Kazulmark then they should be ashamed. This is also what disappoints me about the Kongelig Parti, as on many levels I agree with them and the concept of a Parent State, however, they have also pushed for stronger religious teachings in schools and for young people of Kazulmark. While I am a man for morals, I do not believe we should enforce one value or another on our children. I have hope that Kazulamrk can see a mending of our divides, as we all should unless we wish to be, almost literally, at each others' throats. Thank you all again for coming to hear me speak, it gives me great honor to lead such a wonderful nation."

ToDebating the RP: Kong Markus' July 4316 Speech
MessageSpeech by Statsminister Atlas Skuldristen, Kjerne (probably the day after the King's speech):

Does it not make you almost dizzy when you think of all the people that heard Konge Markus on the 12th of July? Gathered outside the royal palace and on broadcast.
Grown-up men are not supposed to cry, but in confidence that I was not alone, I am in no shame to confess that I had to wipe my eyes a few times this 12th of July. And it was not from grief I can tell you.
As Statsminister it is my responsibility to answer to the speech of Konge Markus. It is not with a sense of loathsome duty I do this now, but with pride and joy.
I understand why some people are republicans. It is very easy to argue on the principle grounds of equality. But I think we have in Kazulmark attained a truth that, while it is deeper, is harder to formulate in a simple manner.
We are all born into different families, different situations, into different bodies, strengths and weaknesses, careers and roles. To be born into a royal house is also something that brings with it a role in life. All this difference in fate is not a bad thing! What is important is that all the different careers and roles may get their best possible leeway with least possible limitation on the others.
As long as there is a rich decentralized division of power, the diversity of careers, in which a rigid and anxious mind might be blind to anything but an abstract notion of "inequality", is a good thing, not a bad thing.
The role of the King is one of all these important, socially beneficial roles a Kazulian can have. Does the King of Kazulia have too much power so that this role takes more than it gives, so that it represents corruption rather than fairness? No. And as we know Konge Markus - his agenda and his joy is to be the king of a well-functioning and happy Kazulia, not power for power's sake and empty vanity. He is not playing Kazulmark as his MMO browser-game. Konge Markus is a king and a man well-grounded in reality. He is for real.

The King spoke some criticism. Also of Kjerne. It is fair. I think Kjerne is often said to be for individualism. Well, that may be a fair definition. I have no problem with it. But this means that individuals have the right and possibility to team up, cooperate, form hierarchies, obey each other, love each other, die for each other. Individuals have the right to do this, and if the "collectivist" is our antagonist, he is the one who claims that the individual has a DUTY to these things: co-operate, love, obey, die for another.
Yes, Kjerne comes much out of the distrust of the concept of the "parent state", but many of us are also disciples of Kasper Magnus, and his famous quote "what are our children but slaves if they have no voice?" is held in great esteem within our ranks.
A human being passes several ages. The baby is helpless and needs full service and protection. The young man wants to assert himself, make his identity known in some community, but what men, yes in particular men, tend to want to forget, is that we are all fragile creatures for all our lives. Fragile creatures with many constant needs, both physically and emotionally. That's how we may all be regarded as "children" all our lives. There is a dynamic - the child wants to grow, try new skills, make its own mistakes and triumphs, the grown-up is also helplessly small in the world, scared of being outcast, alone, being dependant on so much. So we are in a sense all and always both adult and child.
We think the most flexible, dynamic set-up to answer this human situation is not regulation which presupposes that there are some who are only always adults who must regulate for others who are only always children, but indeed the Basic Income, and we regard it not only as a floor to land on, but a floor to stand on. It is a requirement for there to be a true market economy. The original situation of a human being, from whence a truly free market can arise, is one where he and she have recourse to a basic sustenance directly from nature. From that floor then can be built a free exchange of services.
Of the pagan movement, I have said a few words before. It is not proper that I as Statsminister speak about my own religious situation, but I may say we also have many pagans in Kjerne. Paganism has had an upsurge and a renaissance this decade, and this is not a fault or a problem as such.
Many years ago Kjerne proposed the bill for no laws what citizens can put into their bodies. Then we settled with the NHR policy that all naturally occurring drugs should be legal. Now it is the local governents decide. The pagan stronghold is is Kelvon. The draddwyr pagans are druids. I would like to see a report on what substances they use. I am not talking of banning anything here, but knowledge and information about what these things do, could be welcome. It would in so many ways obviously be very unfortunate if pagan worshippers arm themselves with sticks and stones with the intention to attack and take over Stortinget. Some people have laughed at the thought, but I think it would amount to a sad spectacle, and it is definitely a case for Kjerne to look into if we have been somehow at fault if such scenes shall take place in Kazulia. I am particularly thinking of it being in line with Kjerne policy to bring empowerment to the humbled, so to speak, If it goes too fast, and if there are drugs involved, it might lead to megalomaniac behaviour.

We look forward to continue to think, debate, and work together with the King and all factions, faiths, and ethnicities to make Kazulmark a freer, happier, and safer place.
