Message | Mr. Speaker, adoption is now taken care of by two organisations which are heavily regulated and controlled by the State. We are sure that they are doing a great job and are making decisions in the benefit of the children that need to be adopted. There is no need for the Government to take over this task, since no anomalities have been reported. We wish to leave these organisations in charge of the process of adoption. Message | Mr. Speaker, While the LFP does agree with the intent of this bill, we believe there are plenty of single parents that are just as qualified to adopt and raise children and that we should not restrict the number of potential adoption because they are single. For this reason the LFP can't support this bill. William Harris, LFP leader |
