Description[?]:
Members of the Assembly, It is clear that embryonic stem cell research can bring a multitude of medical breakthroughs and such cells have a potential curative ability that far outweighs adult cells. No more so than in searching for the cure for cancer - a modern day breakthrough that would bring the end to pain and suffering for millions around the world. We have heard the ethical debates in regards to harvesting embryonic cells and the traditional religious belief that such research is destroying human life or, even, that it is man playing at being god. But I believe the good far outweighs any perceived bad. I therefore propose we modify the law to allow our scientists to begin regulated research using embryonic cells.
