We must un-do what FNB did to our nation.

I may not have as much power as I used to but I will not stand by while our great country gets high jacked by extremist.
Lets work together to build our region back.

Voting yes is agreeing to this statement
"I pledge not to support or introduce legislation enacting the building of border walls between us and our neighbors, and/or internally within Solentia.'

Thankfully we were able to defeat these extreme bills. That shows the true character of Solentia and its people.

MessageWe have no problem with voting to repeal both of the laws in question, however the pledge you are asking us to make here is poorly phrased. If I were to make this pledge, I would be pledging not to vote on legislation to implement tolls or the building of a wall. To abide by this pledge would require we abstain from voting on the very legislation that would allow us to repeal those laws. Furthermore, tolls are too broadly defined here. Suppose we build a masterful bridge, turnpike or freeway system that would require us to implement tolls fairly upon all travelers, including our own citizens, in order to pay for the infrastructure and its maintenance. This pledge severely limits our future abilities to improve and meet the needs of transportation infrastructure.

We recommend this bill be scrapped and the issues dealt with specifically, properly, and separately.
1) Bill to repeal the Border Wall.
2) Bill to repeal the Torry Toll. (This Bill appears to be available to vote on at the time of writing and will shortly see our support.)
3) If there must be a pledge, word it in such a way that it accomplishes our goals, for example: 'We pledge not to support or introduce legislation enacting the building of border walls between us and our neighbors, and/or internally within Solentia.' Address the tolls with a separate pledge.

As it stands, we the people of the Solentian Secular Realist Party cannot in good conscience agree to pledging this statement as written.
