| Branches of the Armed Forces of Aldegar The Imperial Guard are under the direct command of the Shah and their appointed Commander, who is appointed directly by the Shah, though they are considered a part of the Armed Forces of Aldegar and are counted as such, they are wholly independent of the Armed Forces as an entirety. The Imperial Guard, as a homage to their training and ancestral roots, are known as the "Immortals" back to ancient Aldegarian units that fought in centuries past.
