Bill: Creation of the Beluzian Space Administration

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Defense and Federalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2195

Description[?]:

Space is the final frontier. The more we know about space and the world around us, the better economic and military position we can find ourselves in. The possibilities of research and development in outer space are endless. The military possibilities are as well.

Why should something so important be contracted to private corporations? The government should be more involved. We are the only group in Beluzia with enough capital and resources to undertake large space flight missions. If we want to truly explore the world around us, the government needs to take part.

MessageBecause no one corporation has the investment capital to do much of anything in space. Can you immagine if Boeing had tried to land a man on the moon in 1969? It would never have happened

MessageWith some help from Washington Senator Henry 'Scoop' Jackson, you can be sure that Boeing would have landed on the moon.

The current proposal contracts out work to private companies, which means we provide them with the necessary capital.

MessageMaybe I am confused with what I propose. What I want is a system like NASA, where the government buys things from private corporations and undertakes the missions themselves. The system we have looks like we are paying other corporations to do it all themselves.

Correct me if I am wrong...

MessageI think our current system is much like NASA, where private contractors supply the military w what it needs. The system you are proposing is more like the Soviet Union, w nationalised corporations doing the work. I'd rather the givt. didn't regulate space at all, and private companies landed on the moon ;)

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve.
