| This bill proposes that abortion is banned. Is it not true that a baby has a life to live which should not be taken away? Is it not true that a woman and a woman not taking enough care is no reason to murder a defenceless soon-to-be child. Is it not true the everyone has the same rights? If the social democratic, centrist parties and secular parties really care about equal rights, then they should care about the rights of the living and too-to-be living. All that potential for a happy life cannot be taken away before it has begun. |

| Message | We were hoping this would stay in debate long enough for us to comment and negotiate. Scientifically, life begins at conception. To an extent we value a woman's right to choose, but we also recognize there are choices to be made before conception. We believe there are exceptional circumstances, however. Rape is just one example that cannot be blamed on a woman's lack of care. We strongly believe that in cases where an unborn child medically threatens the life of the mother, the mother's life must be saved. This bill fails to properly address these issues and for that reason we vote no. |
