Message | The Prime Minister addresses the legislature: Mr Speaker, may I be the first to thank the Atabeg Accipitrum for gracing us with her presence here in this Parliament. It is always an honour and a pleasure to hear her speak. May I also offer my congratulations to the military officials elevated to command positions by her pronouncement. I am particularly pleased that General Bill Edwards has been given responsibility for the army given he is a personal friend of mine and we attended university together. He is truly a most capable officer. I am, however, somewhat surprised that she has appointed a General to head the Navy. Surely an admiral would be more appropriate? But I'm sure she knows best. We will of course support General Duncan as he swaps his cavalry horse for a battleship and learns the ways of the Navy. |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
