Bill: Cabinet Proposal: A Return to Unity and Cooperation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Defense and Federalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2194

Description[?]:

In haste this morning I made a cabinet proposal, which in retrospect seems flawed. For the good of Beluzia and all parties involved, I have designed this proposal. Everyone is represented in the proposal and will have a part in my cabinet.

Tax and Spend: Despite our political differences on many issues, you still represent 30% of our great republic. I have also noticed that you have made several proposals on education (ie: Won't somebody please think of the children). Therefore I have nominated you to oversee Education and Culture in our country. I have also nominated you to oversee all of our internal affairs, because I agree more with your domestic stances then your international ones, and because you deserve to be well represented in this government.

Beluzian Fascist Party: You, my friend, come up with some pretty wacky proposals sometimes. However, you and I see very eye to eye on foreign policy issues, thus making you an excellent candidate for my old office of Foreign Affairs. It’s rumored that other fascists “make the trains run on time” so you’ll also be in charge of that.

Beluzian Moderates: You are one of the key stabilizing forces in our nation. You prevent the right from going too right and the left from going too left. That fairness leads me to believe that you would be a good candidate for Justice. Also, along the same lines that I am appointing Tax and spend to education, I am appointing you to Health and Social Services. My proposals on health care have received… little support to say the least. So I feel that appointing a moderate is in the best interests of the nation.

Beluzian Conservatives: You and I agree on most political issues, except for a few every once in a while. You also would have received my support, had this election have gone into a 2nd round. Therefore, I feel that you should have a lot of responsibility and control in this new government, so I am appointing you to oversee all of our finances. I also believe that the future of Beluzia lies in Science and Technology, and that we need a skilled party to oversee that department.

Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party: You also have a lot of experience, and looking through your past proposed bill record, you were responsible for creating the “Mandatory Recycling” program of March 2104. In my opinion, that is as good a reason as any to appoint you to overseeing our environmental protection.

Peoples Populist Party: In my other cabinet proposal you said that you wanted the BCP to be in charge. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. And for that reason is exactly why I have still decided to appoint you to my cabinet. Your one of Beluzias oldest parties, and if this passes, going to be overseeing one of our most important offices: agriculture. Any country needs to grow food to survive, Beluzia is no different. I would like for you to head up that department. If you decide not to be part of my government, that’s fine too. You can always resign.

Partisans And Artisans League: You are again, one of Beluzias oldest and most respected parties. The office of Defense is one that I think is critically important for the survival of any nation (Important enough that I named my party after it). I like your views on the use of our military, and I want you to head up that department.

Beluzian Nationalist Party: Industry is Beluzia. Without it, we will not be an economically strong country. I tend to lean towards a more privatized, free trade view on our economy, and you have voted against me. However, you’re always looking out for Beluzia, and that’s what we need in our government

I have tried to be pretty fair with this cabinet proposal. I encourage everyone to move on from the political division and turmoil, and get back to what we do best: working together to make a stronger Beluzia.

Please vote no on my original cabinet proposal. And I strongly hope that everyone will support this one.

MessageI can honestly say that I am not surprised that the BCP opposes this.

MessageI actually was.

But even with the BCP and the PPP voting no, it looks like it will still pass.

However, this was the fairest proposal I could come up with. And we needed a new one, our old cabinet was 6 years and 3 elections old.

Messageooc: the proposal is plenty fair, but you can't expect me to support going from 4 cabinet seats (including defense and justice...) to just 1 in agriculture ;)

Messageooc: I see your point. But you have to admit, the distribution of seats is different now, and it would be nearly impossible for me to pass any type of cabinet giving you all 4 of your seats back

MessageActually this proposal will fail because some of the parties in it have voted against it, a cabinet will only pass if all of the parties in it vote for it.

MessageWell then, either the conservatives or the PPP change their mind... or ill have to draft another proposal that cuts them out of the government.

I really dont want to have to do that.
