Bill: State Industries Act - 4335

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialisma Respublika Partio

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4336

Description[?]:

Members of the National Assembly,

Given the government's alarming attempts to sell off our port facilities without carrying out due diligence, we feel that counter measures must be taken to secure our future prosperity and to stave off acton that could lead us into costly legal action with foreign governments and our own people.

We, therefore, suggest a larger - not smaller - role be taken by the government in our industries to stop what we believe is the first in many attempts to fully privatise our economy and leave all decision making in the hands of solely-for-profit corporations.

Furthermore, I have been in contact with the Socialist governors of the states of Endiraho, Kalvario and Sakvejo who tell me they are not willing to take this sitting down. They have liaised with regional union leaders and confirm that any further attempts to privatise the dock yard and ship building industries will trigger a vote on industrial action in all three states in these sectors.

It is not our intention to be the catalyst for industrial action; however, we will stand closely by our fellow citizens if industrial action is called in a bid to block the government riding roughshod over existing workers rights, pay and conditions. This is why we are also calling for extra industrial action rights so that the government can see the full extent of opposition against their plans.
