Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 4362

Description[?]:

Due to Jake Stone's role in form the NRP he has not yet had a challenger in the NRP presidential primaries. But because of his advance age (75) and his forming a coalition with the Labour party he has become less popular among NRP members as their candidate for the 4337 elections. his three challengers were congressman Albert Hayes from Talasor, Tricia Adams, the former Minster of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and congressman Chris Lewis from Adudura. Stone's platform was to keep the status quo in the government, while Hayes' had a similar platform but that Stone was to old to continue as president, Adams campaigned for lower taxes, less regulations on business', and a bringing back the tariff. While Lewis had a platform that would move further to the right, saying that "we cannot let the conservatives in Mordusia to be forgotten again".

Polls show the following:

These delegates will be among those who will chose the NRP's next presidential candidate at the NRP national convention that will be held this October in the city of Port Saint-John.

Most experts say that because Sayoon being a more liberal state that the more centrist policies of Stone and Hayes won out of the conservative view points of Adams, and Lewis. In a press conference after the results came in Lewis said that "once we get out to the more common sense areas of the country he will get more votes."

MessageAt the NRP convention Adams came into the convention with a lead in the number of delegates with 152 delegates to Lewis' 144, and Hayes 141. Since no one came to the convention with a majority of the delegates the delegates will keep on voting until someone gets a majority. after the first ballot delegates are no longer bound to a certain candidate.

Stone-63
Hayes-141
Adams-152
Lewis-144

2nd ballot
Hayes-194
Adams-158
Lewis-148

3rd ballot

Adams-62
Lewis-195

7th ballot
Hayes-248
Adams-20
Lewis-232

8th ballot
Hayes-253
Adams-12
Lewis-235

After 8 ballots Hayes was declared as the NRP's presidential nominee for the 4337 election. After 4 stalemated ballots Hayes was able to start convincing delegates to vote for him and was able to get a majority after the 8th ballot. Adams who had come to the convention with a lead in delegates is crying foul play. She said that "she had came to the convention with the most delegates and the will of the people behind her, but Hayes and his cronies who run the NRP were able to strongly persuade delegates to his side." Afterwards she announced that she was leaving the NRP due to in her words "the corruption of the establishment cannot be fixed from within the party". Lewis would not comment.
