Bill: Military Aid to the Free State of Malivia

Details

Submitted by[?]: Pars Militum Petulantia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4372

Description[?]:

We'd like to bring the Selucian senate's attention to a rising threat in Artania. The Thalleristische Front in the United Kingdom of Narikaton and Darnussia has passed a bill which officially declares war on an ally of ours, the Free State of Malivia. Not only are they undermining and threatening our ally's territorial sovereignty but they are threatening Malivia with what they call "Malivian cleansing".

We call upon the Selucian senate to recognize the serious threat being made across the South Ocean. Not only the threat to the Free State of Malivia and its people, but also to our national security. If the Free State of Malivia falls, we are exposed to an invasion from the South Ocean. We cannot handle the situation by appeasing the aggressors, we must fight back because if we don't... Selucia will be next.

With this bill, we will officially declare Selucia's backing to the Free State of Malivia with the full force of the Selucian Armed Forces. To be able to fully support the Free State of Malivia, we'd have to focus our spending on the military, which is why we have proposed to significantly increase our military spending. When the national security of our country is on the line, we believe this change to be justified. But, most importantly, we believe the change to be necessary and vital to the survival of our great nation.

MessageStill we don’t know why so much increase ln the military budget, specially when it is almost half of all our nations spending. Seems a bit to much, and much more takingn money away from vital thinggs such as Health or Education. We can support an small increase in the military spending in times of war, but not that much, specially when our nation is not under attack and supportinf Malivia without being informed of the rest of the world’s support can be a disaster.
