| Message | Marco Meloni, PPI General Secretary: Larger farms are not more efficient then smaller farms. While they may produce a greater profit, they also are devastating to the soil and waterways. Also, monocrops are prone to blight and may cause widespread crop shortages if a pest kills the crops. It is better to have smaller, more varied farms instead of larger monocrops. |
