| Members of the National Assembly, Whilst I am delighted that all parties have agreed to work together in government, I am also aware that the coalition can only stand the test of time if we can find middle ground on a number of policy areas. The main areas being infrastructure and the economy, where the widest gaps have always existed in the past. My party is unashamedly for central government playing a significant role in the ownership of sectors vital to the health, welfare and social prosperity of our citizens. However, we are also keen to forge a major role for the private sector, as part of a dual economy plan for the country. That is why I set out these initial proposals today in an attempt to reach a consensus on the right direction for the Zardic economy. I will leave this in debate but ask all parties to suggest other proposals of the same ilk that could be added to this draft bill before we send it to vote. My aim is to see the final bill passed unanimously - so please speak up if there are any proposals you feel need to be amended or deleted altogether. Tamrat Iskinder, Chief Minister of Zardugal |
