| This bill allows abortions through only the first trimester of pregnancy. It recognizes that aborting fetuses after they begin to feel pain (which occurs around 20 weeks) is an inhumane practice. It should also be noted that this bill should not be interpreted as restricting access to late-term abortions in cases where the life of the mother is at risk. |
