Bill: National Animal Correction Proposal of 4344
Details
Submitted by[?]: Council of Lords
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4345
Description[?]:
Friends, countrymen, we all hold great pride in the great natural diversity of our great and glorious nation. But as we all know, the symbol that graces our flag and the animal that is "de jure" our national animal are two different animals. The Elk is the national symbol of Likatonia, but our flag is graced by a deer, a red deer to be precise. In order to avoid international embarassment we propose a change. The graceful red deer represents our nation better than the elk, with it's graceful movement and almost regal horns make more of a statement than the bulky elk with dull horns. Lord Councillor, Ser Garlen Amell Knight of Rainesfere |

Message | OOC: I don't know much about North American fauna but I think the elk is one of the biggest species in the deer family, which can represent the majesty of our nation. How can you tell the one in the flag is a red deer instead of an elk? I don't see any difference in their antlers. Btw we've always called it the "One Elk Flag" xD |

Message | OOC: Just imagine calling it "the one-deer flag" ie "wonder flag" for that alone i would consider changing it. I occasionally hunt in my spare time, and the head on the flag is without a doubt a deer (shape of the skull). "Red deer" was just an educated guess, and they are associated with regal power in heraldry as well. So it's fitting nontheless |

Message | OOC: And where i'm from "Red deer" is translated as "Crowned stag" so i had a soft spot for that particular kind of deer. |

Message | OOC: As someone who lives in North America, the Elk, although similar to deer, is actually closer to the Moose. They come from the same family, but they're actually quite different. |
