MessagePCP acknowledges that the decision to move forward so quickly was ill-advised. We have an ambitious legislative agenda this session and have perhaps been pushing some initiatives through too fast. We believe that we left the tax aspect of these reforms out long enough for comment from other parties, but the spending bill should have been left out for the same amount of time as the tax bill.

We believe that cuts to the Office of the Head of Government are the best way to balance off the new tax structure. However, if other parties take issue with these cuts, we are happy to propose a follow up budget that that saves 2,000,000,000 GAD elsewhere.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
