Bill: Minority Party Protection Act of 4344

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progressive Conservative Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4345

Description[?]:

PCP believes that the system has allowed for our party to introduce too many bills in a short amount of time. We hope to see a more strict limit on proposals parties are able to make. This will serve as a check against too many sweeping reforms at once and ensure that that the minority views in the government are better protected.

MessageThe PCP welcomes input from other parties on this bill before we move it to a vote. We believe 12 bill proposals is the best cap possible, but we recognize that other parties may disagree. We are willing to negotiate as long as we are able to begin to limit the excessive ease of proposing a large number of provisions in Parliament.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
