Bill: D.d.l 01/4345 Allowing the "Istalexit" Referendum to take place

Details

Submitted by[?]: Partito Nazionale Democratico

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4346

Description[?]:

Paolo Vespa-Baldassare, Minister of Internal Affairs,

Honorable Deputies,
I strongly believe that it is our duty as the representatives of the people, to place the future of Istalia regarding this astronomical matter into their own hands. This is not something which we can decide for them, even if we represent them, simply because there are 99,655,682 people living in our glorious nation, and there are only 635 of us. The question this government presents to the chamber today is regarding the potential exodus of the Republic of Istalia from the so-called "confines" of the Majatran Alliance and Common Economic Area. I personally do not believe in this venture, but I was tasked by my party and voters to push this through in the legislative period.

Hence, I ask the chamber to allow the people to be heard in a nationwide, non-binding referendum which would take place alongside the presidential and parliamentary elections in April of next year.

The MA has given us much and if the honourable deputies are as confident in the outcome as I am, then, please allow the people to prove us right. This would silence all the naysayers of this grand Majatran Project of which we are rightfully the leader.

Thank you! God bless Istalia!

This bill needs 50 % of the legislature to vote in favour as it is a non-constitutional bill regarding a non-binding referendum.

MessageOOC: At the moment, the vote share is as follows:
PNI/PNP: In Favor: 86% Against: 14%.
DHI In favour Istalexit: 7 %. Against: 93%.
LP in favour Istalexit: 5%. Against: 95%.
PLI: favour: 20%; against:80%.
PCI: Favor: 40%; Against: 60%.
ULD: Favour: 12%; Against: 88%.

Firstly, would you like seeing an undecided fraction? It is possible but as we assume counting all people going to the voting booths, then they will put their cross on the referendum vote as well, so I do not see why we would need one - we could rp a lot of undecided people prior to elections but the above proportions will be used to calculate the votes.

Secondly, if you do not disclose your parties' proportion of the vote prior to the election, as already mentioned by Axxel, 50/50 will be assumed.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
