Bill: Housing bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kalistan National Front

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4351

Description[?]:

At the moment, those who want a house and are classed as “poor” can get one free from the government.
Whilst we admire the good will of this policy we question its reality and think that it may be better to consider affordable housing over cheap housing. We again wonder whether it is right for some to be able to have the rights to things they have not earnt, such as a house.

MessageThis would still give poorer buyers a discount but it seems silly to just give everyone everything on a silver plate for nothing.

MessageObviously we cannot just start charging the full price for a home to some as they don’t have access to that kind of money so we will reduce the prices and make it affordable, but not free.

MessageWe support, the production of homes should be left to the private sector so the government can use less of its money to subsidize rent rather than to construct. We see this as a square deal in which nobody is harmed; the government pays less money, the poor still get shelter, and private construction companies get work and opportunity.
