Bill: Empower the Estates act of 4354
Details
Submitted by[?]: Council of Lords
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4355
Description[?]:
For untold centuries the four traditional estates have been ignored in Likatonia. And as a consequence the tyranny of the majority and rampant ochlocracy have drained the material and spiritual wealth of the realm. Now, the lords of the council seek to restore the estates to their rightful positions and bring balance to the realm. For too long, mob rule has been the rule of the hour, and as the clergy lose their rights and the blue blood is running thin, the third estate has usurped the rights of the other two estates by pure virtue of force, this must cease. We propose to reinstate the core privilieges of the first and second estates, in order to secure the integrity of Likatonian society. Signed Franz-Ulrich Bérain Hail Likatonia! |

Message | When you, the Council, seeked our support for the removal of the ban on nobility titles, we did it for the sake of freedom. Now, with this overshoot on nobility titles that grants rights to "lords", we feel betrayed. Also, any interference of the government in religion is a discrimination of some religious businesses over others. Where I come from it is called corruption. |

Message | Good sir, Preaching about "corruption" is all well and fine, but i suggest you take a look at yourself first. When the law was originally passed under the liberal government, incest and polygamy were also legal. We did not judge the liberial position that incestual harems were moral and good, even though the very idea disgusted us to our core. The proposals brought here before you are grounded in morality, psychology and theology. If your party felt no quarrel with supporting and championing incestual harems, propagating laws that devalue women and enable rapists to molest their own sons & daughters, this proposal should not be a bother to you. remember dear collegue, "judge not lest ye be judged" signed Franz-Ulrich Bérain Majority Speaker |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
