Message | Mr. Speaker, The Progressive Conservatives believe that the current healthcare system is not murderous. It is a system that effectively and efficiently provides healthcare access for all citizens. It ensures variety in the healthcare treatment options available to people, allows competition to encourage providers to produce high quality care with shorter patient wait times, and still guarantees that those otherwise unable to afford healthcare will still have their costs covered by the state. The proposal made by NWPG will be enormously detrimental to our country as the prohibition of private clinics will reduce the range of healthcare options available to people, stifle health care innovation, and increase economic inefficiencies in the market for healthcare. Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
