Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4356
Description[?]:
Subject: Government provision of legal aid to the accused. Current Law: Legal representation for defendants in criminal trials is paid for by the state for defendants with low incomes. Proposed Law: Legal representation for defendants in criminal trials is paid for by the state. The People's Revolutionary Party proposes that both the defendant and accuser parties should possess access to a state-funded legal representative that represents either parties within the judicial system, regardless of their income, considering that justice should be provided to each and every human being for the sole purposes of ensuring that justice is served. In other terms, each and every human being should attain access to a state-funded Lawyer in order to ensure that justice is represented according to the circumstances of the case, rather than the wealth of the individual, as a means towards abolishing classist ideals within the judicial system. Both legal representatives must be state-funded, rather than privately-funded, considering that justice should be served according to the situation of the incident rather than the wealth of an individual. |
