MessageMr. Speaker,

While we disagree with raising our already high corporate tax rate and we are opposed to the recreational sales of drugs we shall support this bill in order to relieve the tax burden levied on the people of Rutania.

MessageGovernor Murdoch,

The reason we decided to add article 2 is so that the we can effectively shutdown the sale of drugs on the black market. The Government will sell recreational drugs at a lower price than black market dealers, this will effectively shut down the sale of drugs on the black market. The money that the government gets from the sale of recreational drugs will be used to build government rehabilitation facilities so that recreational drug addicts can get treated and rehabilitated for free. The big issue with drugs is the black market, we don't know who is selling the drugs, how much drugs are in circulation, and who they are selling it to. In many cases, they sell to minors. Government control on this issue could prevent this. And instead of the money flowing into the hands of cartels being used to fund more criminal activity, the money will be used to build rehabilitation facilities. Law enforcement may shut down drug labs, but they are essentially playing a game of whackamole. They shut one down, and two more take its place. The Nationalist Union by no means supports the idea of drug use, we believe drug use and drug addiction is a huge tragedy for our society. But the major issue with drugs is those who sell them. We have to shut down the black market and stop the flow of money to cartels.

MessageAttorney General Barfield,

You make some very valid points, in an ideal world our streets would be free of drugs and the vermin drug addicts but that is not reality so I must agree that your proposal is the best path moving forward. It is thanks to innovative thinking and leadership such as yours that I believe Ardinia will lead the way forward for the nation.
