| many years ago we were a persecuted people at the mercy of our neighbors. our communities in diaspora were savagely targeted with impunity as a result we decided to establish a land to call our rightful home. this establishment of independent state should be commemorated as a day of liberty triumphing over tyranny which kept us a hated minority. We purpose that such commemoration should take place in the month of May and that such they be one of reflection and leisure for all who call this land their home. |
