Details

Submitted by[?]: Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4527

Description[?]:

There are six main newspapers in Kanjor, which have held long-standing political loyalties, and have been actively engaged in endorsing political parties. The "Agence de Presse Kanjorien" can be found here: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=84&start=340

Newspapers:
"Le Gardien" is a broadsheet newspaper, that while declaring itself 'independent' politically, has sympathies for liberal causes. It is the most likely paper to back social freedom within Kanjor, and condemns those who seek a more traditionalist agenda. It has generally endorsed moderate economic parties who have liberal social policies. It is seen as the paper for the liberal middle-classes, however it also attracts some attention from the working class, making it the nation's most read newspaper.

"L'Héraut" is a broadsheet newspaper which has conservative tendencies, and a relatively traditionalist outlook. It is the most outspokenly right-wing newspaper and generally takes a tough line on immigration, social reform and crime as it is the bastion for anti-internationalism within the Kanjorien Media, and takes a hard line on "dangerous" cooperation and free trade between Kanjor and other nations. It takes a particular displeasure to communist nations, or those with socialist sympathies.

"Les Temps Economiques" is a broadsheet newspaper, with a centrist political agenda, and actively promotes free-markets and a small government. It is seen as socially liberal and economically conservative. It has generally supported right-wing governments which promote a smaller role for the government and bureaucracy, and free trade. It is also supportive of globalisation.

"Lys D'or" is a pro-monarchist, broadsheet newspaper. It pays little attention to economic issues, and focuses more on tradition. Its opinion pieces contain many traditionalist right-wing authors who advocate for the restriction of civil liberties, a more prominent role for religious institutions, and the return of traditional social relations. Its main goal is to see the monarchy restored and maintained in Kanjor.

"Le Journal" is a tabloid newspaper, and politically populist. It is known to sensationalise the news, and will happily support a party that is regarded as extremist. Many of its opinion pieces straddle far-right and far-left, however they all contain a strong totalitarian and authoritarian messages.

"Grève Rouge" is a broadsheet newspaper, and has the support of the hard left. It supports militant communism, class struggle and revolution. It is seen as internationalist in foreign affairs, and promotes the idea of a 'world revolution'. It is also supportive of social reform. Its columnists are split between liberals and conservatives over social issues, such as gay marriage and abortion. Its primary concern is an economic struggle.
