Since the collapse of the Pua Dictatorship in the 4260s, Indrala's economy has undergone an staggering and rapid period of development. In less than a generation, Indrala has largely transformed from a upper-tier developing economy to one of the world's most developed, high-income and high-skilled. At present, Indrala's economy is largely dominated by family-owned ๐™˜๐™–๐™ž๐™ฏ๐™ช conglomerates which have been built over the past 150 years.ย Successive surpluses under the Lotus and Jien Parties have significantly reduced the public debt and foreign investors often compliment the resilience of the Indralan economy, sustaining growth despite feuds with Dankuk and ongoing international conflicts such as the Hulstrian Civil War. Indrala has an export-oriented economy which has culminated in the ratificationation of numerous free-trade agreements abroad. The coronation of Sun Yijun as Emperor in 4338, as well as the rise of Indrala's large export-oriented entertainment industry (YingPop) has generated large amounts of tourism from developed and developing nations alike.

Indrala's economic growth is attributed by many to the extensive education system strengthened by successive governments since the 4260s, as well as a refusal to raise corporate taxes above 5% or sales taxes, luxury or otherwise. Due to this, the majority of Indralans, left and right alike are sensitive to any tax increases, as well as austerity when it pertains to education. Additionally, large family owned conglomerates (caizu) dominate the Indralan economy. Despite the overwhelming power of the caizu companies, few are calling for their regulation as many view them as essential to Indrala's economic success.

The hyper-competitive nature of Indrala's economic system has had a number of social consequences, including increased rates of anxiety and mental illness among young people in school, an increasing suicide rate, long working hours and general stress. Sociologists in Indrala have observed a new phenomenon emerging, which they have given the neologism ๐Ÿ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ช๐ข ๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (ๆ”พๅผƒไธ€ไปฃ), or "give up" generation. This concept refers to the increasing rates of many young people in Indrala who have given up child rearing, marriage, and interpersonal relationships because of the social pressures and economical conditions of Indrala.

Over the past century, rapid development and the some of the lowest income taxes in the world have also led to massive and growing income inequality. By emphasizing the industrial and high-tech sectors, Indrala's export-oriented development strategy has left the rural sector all but forgotten. Except for mining, farming, fishing, and forestry, most industries are located in the urban areas of Indrala. While the government provides a comprehensive welfare system and a tax exemption for low-income earners, unemployment has been rising in these areas and standard-of-living has stagnated.

Similarly, as economic growth has been centralized in urban cores such as Tian'an and Kaizhou, the availability of affordable housing has become a significant issue. Real estate investment has intensified, both from foreign and domestic investors, leading to an artificial inflation of housing prices. Kaizhou is home to the most expensive housing prices in Indrala. Economists and commentators as of late have been raising concerns that the "housing price bubble" in Indrala is close to bursting, which may have dire consequences on the Indralan economy.

Indrala's workforce, motivated by the Jienist and the broader societal importance attributed self-cultivation and education, is one of the most highly educated in the world. In this way, Indrala's economy remains very innovative and high-tech, with a very large number of patents being filed every month. Indrala's KITE universities (see, KITE (universities): http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/KITE_(universities)) are some of the most advanced and highly regarded in the world.

Major industries in Jiaozhi include electronics, telecommunications, financial services, high-precision manufacturing, construction, tourism and entertainment. Minor sectors include luxury goods manufacturing and electric car manufacturing.

The Jiaozhi Miracle (http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Jiaozhi_Miracle) transformed the provincial economy from Indrala's poorest to Indrala's strongest. Kaizhou, the capital of Jiaozhi has developed over the past 150 years from a humble fishing and shipping port to a bustling international hub with the highest number of skyscrapers per capita in the world. The city is also home to the largest concentration of billionaires in Indrala. The rise of Indrala's large export-oriented music and entertainment industry (YingPop, which is centered in Kaizhou) has generated large amounts of tourism. A number of caizu conglomerates are headquartered in Kaizhou, including TQ Group, FangCaiRyeo Group, Sun Group and Future Financial.

>> ๐€๐๐‹๐„

Major industries in Anle include agriculture, forestry, pulp and paper processing, mining and fossil fuel extraction. Minor sectors include ceramic manufacturing and fishing.

Anle's economic growth has stagnated, as the "rip-and-ship" raw resource extraction economy of the Province has suffered significantly due to low resource prices. Coupled with a deep drought in 4320s, the low skilled agricultural sector has also struggled. The central government has maintained stringent environmental standards which many locals blame for the downturn. With the lowest concentration of post-secondary institutions in Indrala, job opportunities for many in Anle are slim in the highly competitive Indralan job market.ย

>> ๐Œ๐ˆ๐

Major industries in Min include mineral and petrochemical processing, electric power generation, agriculture and fishing. Minor sectors include mining and shale oil extraction.ย

As Min's economy is reliant on mining and mineral/petrochemical processing of raw resources exracted from Anle, the growth of Min's provincial economy has slowed significantly. Additionally, as Jiaozhi corporations have built power stations, the reliance on Min's nuclear and hydro-electric power, has decreased.ย

>> ๐‡๐€๐

Major industries in Han include the finance sector (nation's stock market is located in Tian'an), shipbuilding, tourism, agriculture and the service sector. Minor sectors include fishing and manufacturing.ย

As Indrala's capital province, Han has long been Indrala's most prosperous region. Today, Han retains a very strong economy, despite having been surpassed by Jiaozhi in 4352 in terms of gross domestic product. The concentration of educational institutions, including two KITE universities (http://bit.ly/2flzOS9) makes Han's workforce one of the most highly-educated in the country.ย

>> ๐’๐‡๐”

Major industries in Shu include manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing, vehicle manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding, agriculture and fishing. Minor sectors include tourism and construction.

Long recognized as Indrala's poorest province, Shu's economy has seen modest growth over the past 75 years. Government investment in infrastructure, coupled by increased manufacturing demand has seen positive growth rates for Shu's economy since 4320.ย

Random fact: http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com and http://www.behindthename.com/random are great resources for coming up with character names from unfamiliar cultures.

Random quote: "I am a conservative to preserve all that is good in our constitution, a radical to remove all that is bad. I seek to preserve property and to respect order, and I equally decry the appeal to the passions of the many or the prejudices of the few." - Benjamin Disraeli
