Date | 04:21:42, March 15, 2018 CET | From | Liberal Party of the URK (LURK) | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | The current system already works well. This program was eliminated in the first place because it costs too much and is less effective than subsidies. We vote negatively. |
Date | 12:35:31, March 15, 2018 CET | From | Freedom and Liberty Party of Kalistan | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | We will vote negatively as this will cost too much money and lower standards. |
Date | 14:17:10, March 15, 2018 CET | From | National Conservative Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | We would vote to increase rent subsidies but feel housing would be of higher quality if left to the private market. |
Date | 15:14:08, March 15, 2018 CET | From | Democratic Workers Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | We recognise the potential cost of this proposal but believe it is a necessary expense to provide for the worse off in society. Rent subsidies are not sufficient as they only raise the cost if rent and place greater glburden on low income families rather than alleviating it. |
Date | 15:16:54, March 15, 2018 CET | From | Democratic Workers Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | The private rental sector can only be improved by this proposal as it allows rental price's to change with market conditions rather than be artificially inflated by the presence of subsidies. |
Date | 15:33:54, March 15, 2018 CET | From | National Conservative Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | Rent subsidies actually do quite the opposite, they pay for a portion of the of low-income families' rent. And this also won't allow the private sector to improve, it'll take opportunities way from the private sector. |
Date | 17:29:27, March 15, 2018 CET | From | Democratic Workers Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | That's not always how subsidies work. Seeing a renter qualifying for rent supplement, property owners increase rent they would have otherwise offered as the renter can afford more.than previously. |

Message | Further, on the side of principles. Our citizens deseve the dignity afforded by security of tenure.and not have their tenure dependent upon the provision of benefits, but should be given the opportunity to one day own their own homes |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
