Message | It's not the place of the government to regulate whether or not a woman should have to bare a pre-sentient child. Furthermore, it's not the place of the government to fund sports clubs. |
Date | 00:26:34, March 16, 2018 CET | From | Kalistani Workers Party | To | Debating the Health Policy Update, April 4363 |
Message | We think the government should be funding sports clubs, but we sure as hell don't think the government should be telling people what they can and can't do with their bodies. |

Message | We can understand the LURK's qualms with the sports clubs, but I sure as bloody hell don't agree with allowing people to prevent life because they went and had sex without contraceptives and without caring about the repercussions. |

Message | Ok, but this bill also bans abortions for people who have engaged in incest or been raped. So, is the NCP saying they are fine with that, because this bill would certainly seem to say so. |

Message | If this was a debate about taking life, then yes, I would be for it. But this is in the third trimester, before sentience. Bodily autonomy should be weighed more heavily than prevention of a life (not the termination of a current one). |

Message | Criminalising abortion is a massive step backwards. It is a completely unfair impingement on the rights of the mother |

Message | KWP, that's a valid point. I still don't agree with abortion, but I can't argue with the fact that rape is evil. DWP, saying that something is a "massive step backwards" isn't an argument, and not allowing the prevention of the life because two people had unprotected sex sure as hell isn't any step backwards. Allowing life to be denied to a future human being without valid cause (Health issues for the mother or, as the KWP pointed out, rape) is the true step backwards. |
