Bill: Marriage and globalization act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Workers Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4364
Description[?]:
Our nation must be a welcoming one in order to attract the best of the best in a global economy and the current law restricts our ability to do this. This bill confers no extra rights nor does it make marriage easier or more difficult. it would simply recognise a marriage which would have taken place regardless of our legislation. All current legislation does is ensure those married couples have a greater incentive to avoid our country. |

Message | You're insane. We want citizens and residents of our country to follow the laws. We negate this bill. |
Date | 21:42:15, March 16, 2018 CET | From | Democratic Workers Party | To | Debating the Marriage and globalization act |
Message | Not insane. We just believe that a marriage recognised in another country is just as legitimate as one recognised in ours. We do not see any real need for a superfluous piece of legislation such as this which does nothing but turn away married couples who would otherwise immigrate and contribute positively to our society |
Date | 05:25:41, March 17, 2018 CET | From | Kalistani Workers Party | To | Debating the Marriage and globalization act |
Message | Our one concern is that marriages that are polygamous or involve children or are incestuous would be recognized as legal now, and we don't think that the government of Kalistan should allow these marriages to be recognized within our country. Thus, we must negate. |
