Description[?]:

The Grand Assembly of the State of Indrala,

NOTING the scandalous incestuous engagement of a relative of His Radiant Highness the Emperor, Son of Heaven (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7351&p=130768#p130768) to his Jelbek cousin, AND;

NOTING the precedent set forth in Article 1.10 of the Constitution (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=558455), namely: "The Emperor may not accept any other crown or government without the consent of the Grand Assembly, for which two thirds of the votes are required.", AND;

DECREES that no member of the royal family who is sired by the same parents as the Son of Heaven, or who is the child or grandchild of the Son of Heaven shall be married to anyone of non-Indralan heritage without the express approval of the Grand Assembly with a two-thirds majority.

MessageMr. Speaker,

While we are disappointed and disturbed by the Khagan's announcement, this amendment or interpretation goes too far.

The Son of Heaven, being the Supreme and Sovereign of the State of Indrala should be allowed to dictate the affairs of his own household. Nothing the unique position of His Imperial Majesty, does the opposition member intend to remove even the personal rights of the Emperor?

Additionally, the opposition party's leader, Mr. Mo, wrote in an op-ed that "no marriage aside from a marriage to an Indralan of undisputed lineage should be condoned." With this retreat into ethnocentrism, does Mr. Mo disagree with the marriage of the Lord Father to Princess Kyunghee of Dankuk?

We will be voting in opposition to this act, and we urge our colleagues to do the same.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Son of Heaven, sacred as His Radiant Highness is, stands besieged by beastlike and savage men on all sides, who seek to do grave injustice by attaining mere drops of His precious blood. Jelbek horselords, Metzist traitors, all would utilize the Son of Heaven for worldly gain. It is therefore only prudent that the most obvious avenues by which the Son of Heaven might be approached and injured should be guarded jealously by the political apparatuses of the Indralan state. Indralans are the beneficiaries of Divine favor, ought we not to treat that favor with its due recognition?

The GNP's esteemed leader, Mo Ah, was quite correct in reminding the nation that only marriages to Indralans can be trusted as the foundation upon which that mandate from Heaven can remain firm, indeed, though it pains us to say, any marriage to a Kyo should surely have been avoided, as harlotry and anti-Indralanism are rife in Dankuk, particularly in these troubled times.

MessageMr. Speaker,

This incident displays the complete and utter dismay that our nation had seen as we continue on with this monarchist mess. This chamber was set up and elected by the people to improve their lives and create a more perfect union. Yet today, this chamber had to set aside time to discuss such trivial matters as someone's marriage. This is truly, the best showcase of exactly why this imperial house must be removed and put aside into the corner of history.

MessageMr. Speaker,

It's unfortunate that the Civic Forum maintains such a pessimistic view of our nation. Surely this Grand Assembly can address spiritual and cultural policies, along with all other pressing public issues.

Speaking specifically on the topic of Imperial Union, does the Civic Forum reject the unity brought by the marriage of the Lord Father and Princess Kyunghee? (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?p=125426#p125426) Further, that while these concerns may be able to be relegated to history in western nations, Indrala is the most unique and perfect nation on this planet. Why is it that the Civic Forum wants us to adopt a political and cultural system born out of the west, and replicated by every other country in the world? Why doesn't the Civic Forum respect the time-honoured cultural practices of this country? Why doesn't the Civic Forum respect the religious and spiritual views of 88% of all Indralans? These are questions that voters will ask.

With this deep-rooted disrespect for Indralan culture, the Civic Forum is indistinguishable from the Communist Party. This is tragic, and dangerous. As I said to students at Kaizhou National University, the Lotus Party, the Civic Forum and the Social Democrats are natural allies in the fight for a more equitable and progressive Indrala. However, our party cannot morally work with parties which propose the destruction of the modern Indralan state. (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?p=131401#p131401)

We hope that this fledgling party will reject its Metzist republican adolescence and join the adults in the Grand Assembly in discussing the future of this country.
