Bill: Party Funding Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Zentrumspartei

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4367

Description[?]:

By preventing political parties from receiving donations, they will be more inclined to represent their constituents. While we recognise that many people give small donations to a party of their choice, questions of influence arise when larger donations are made by wealthy individuals and big businesses.

MessageAny money taken in politics is a bribe. There are no ifs or buts about it. Money should not be in politics.

When a contributor is paying a politician, they are buying them. Politicians should work for all of their constituents equally. They shouldn't have to pander to the rich and to unions to get their terms in office - they should be getting support for their ideas from the ordinary people.
