Bill: Public Ownership of Utilities
Details
Submitted by[?]: Luthori Workers' Committee
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4368
Description[?]:
Ordinary, hardworking families across Luthori are seeing squeezed living standards and rising utility prices. Water and electricity are utilities, not commodities, and providers should be accountable to taxpayers, not shareholders. We propose national companies provide affordable, sustainable and secure energy nationally and that they are run in the interests of all Luthori. This shall form this basis of a program to extend democratic control of the means of production to those who generate prosperity and economic growth, the working classes. Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
