Message | We are not working people to death. We're providing them with good food and shelter that, if it's not all that great, is still better than what thousands of Likatonian homeless people have. These people in prison are paying for their food and lodging. There's nothing immoral about it. That's exactly what the common person does when he or she goes to his or her job. I'll phrase this in terms I'm certain you'll understand. The money that would go into their wages is better spent on people who's only crime is being poor, rather than people who've already proven themselves incapable of existing in society. |

Message | It looks as if i'm gonna lose this one. but i stick by what i say. you can't force people to work, it violates human rights. criminals can pay for food/accomodation through fines. |

Message | Does that mean we're going to seize all assets of convicted criminals? That almost certainly probably pay for prison sentences, but it violates human rights in another manner - namely, because it would encourage the judiciary to start forcing convictions whenever the national reserves were running low. |

Message | The RWLP does not believe in this so called 'International Law' our main concern is the people of Likaton and Likaton itself. Likaton is not Bound by any outside laws! Likaton is prompted by the national decency of the Likaton peoples. In other words if we feel the need to build a road we will use the Labour of these Criminals! |

Message | RWLP: I'd like to point out that what you just said didn't help. |

Message | obviously the government will have to subsidise to a certain extent what is not collected in fines, but prisoners can put the wages they earn in prison towards paying off the fines, so their property would not have to be siezed. This encourages labour in prison, while not actually enforcing it, preserving human rights. |

Message | That would almost solve my objection, except for one problem. If someone earns money at a government job and then gives it back to the government, the result is actually a net loss. You've convinced me that you're right about the human rights part, though... No. Unfortunately, your bill title and description are offensive. If you'd waited a little longer in debate, that could've been fixed and you'd have the LFP's vote. |
